El rey pescado frito
is a comical take on king of Venezuelan agricultural exports: fish. Following Zubillaga’s playful style of ceramics and pottery, this piece was inspired by her childhood memories, freezing this moment in time, and giving us a glimpse of her past associations towards iconic Venezuelan imagery and culture.

“This was an iconic logo on the coast of the main beach town in Caracas, so, if you are Venezuelan you know what this means! Beach time!” —A.Z.
